Our 5 day dental clinic objective is to reach out to the community and the poor and provide dental services that they otherwise would not receive
The goal is to examine each child and their extended families that has resulted in treating over hundreds of people during that clinic using two dentists and four dental hygienists along with local volunteers.
We will evaluate their dental needs, do an oral cancer and gum disease screening, give them oral care instructions with a personalized toothbrush and toothpaste, clean their teeth and offer them extended care if they choose to fill their decayed teeth, extract teeth in pain and treat their gum disease to the best we can with limited facilities.
We also intend to go above and beyond than just dental service. We are there to build trust in their community and insight that people do care and have good communication with them and especially the children. It is important about their dental health and dental needs but what is more important is their well being and that comes from bonding and friendship. We intend to get down and dirty with dental treatment but we also intend to take time to just get to know the person behind that smile. The children love to have special attention and we do that by incorporating fingernail polish and hair pampering for the girls and play a little sports with the boys.
